The Gold Star Mothers Healing and Peace Garden Project
Back in October of 2009 I was approached to creat a line of Commemorative pins to be presented to dignataries attending the Gold Star Mothers Healing and Peace Garden Groundbreaking cerimony.
I struggled with the concept of having a signature design to represent the organization, given I don't Mass Produce anything. Finally settling on each piece being the same design but clearly hand done, and unique in subtle ways. From the color layout in the background,to the star being hand etched. I thought the unique nature of each piece best represents the individuality and humanity of the men and women these pieces were meant to honor. The Director has given me artistic lisence to create designs as I see fit, for new lines of products intended to be sold as a fund raiser for the organization. An Artists Dream!
I am truly Honored to be associated with this beautiful Concept, as I am humbled by these Men and Women's Sacrifice. It is difficult to convey the emotion of doing something not only worthwhile, but so incredibly meaningful with my art... Thank You for this opportunity.
Update: 1/13/10 ... The construction of the Garden is under way, Keeping Cher Condor quite busy these days, her dream is coming to life!!! Thus far the promotional pieces are not listed for sale on The organizations website but it is in the process... Looking forward to seeing the Garden and the Project reach it's beautful potential.
